You should see the WIFI icon connected and once that is done you can Login to windows 10 and there should be wifi enabled.

You should then be able to see the wireless networks around you when you click on the WIFI icon on the lower right of the login screen.Click on your connection and put in your ssid and password if needed.otherwise make sure you tick the "Connect Automatically" box on your network and click the "Connect Button". Try this one guys.WIFI not enabling in windows 10 !!!!īoot up to Login Screen.Don't Login Yet !!! There should be a WIFI icon in the lower right of your screen.Click on it !!! It should show a window with the Airplane switch and WIFI switch.Turn "OFF" the airplane switch. Let me know how you get on with this post. Still not sure why it happened in the first place. A difficult one to troubleshoot but in the end it was an easy solution. I hope this solution helps you and others with this. Power the laptop back on and wait for bootupĪfter the system started I logged in and the buttons worked :) So I thought I would try the same steps again to see if it would enable the wifi adapter in windows 10 and to my surprise it worked a treat ! I now have a wi-fi icon in the taskbar, the keyboard wifi button works and I can connect to the internet in windows 10. Hold down the on/off power button for 20 seconds Neither of them would respond when touched so I decided to do the following steps. So after much hard thinking I remembered I had a problem with another hp laptop that had soft touch icons to turn the sound and wifi on and off. I then downloaded the drivers from the hp web site and tried to install them but it didn't work either. I uninstalled the wifi adapter and let windows re-install it but still no luck. I looked in the device manager and the qualcomm atheros wifi adapter was showing as not installed properly so I thought it was a driver problem. I looked in settings and there was only airplane button to turn on and off.no actual wi-fi button. I have upgraded my laptop from windows 8 to windows 10 and after the installation I have an airplane mode icon in the taskbar but no wi-fi. Hopefully I can help you and others that have this problem.
